1. Scooter Board Races

Objective: Improve strength and coordination.

Setup: Set up a racetrack using cones or markers.

How to Play:

  • Children lie on their stomachs on the scooter boards.
  • Using their hands to propel themselves, they race to the finish line.
  • This activity can be done individually or in teams.

 

2. Obstacle Course

Objective: Develop problem-solving skills and bilateral coordination.

Setup: Create an obstacle course with tunnels, cones, and small hurdles.

How to Play:

  • Children navigate through the course on their scooter boards.
  • Encourage them to go around, under, and over obstacles.

 

3. Scooter Board Bowling

Objective: Improve hand-eye coordination and aim.

Setup: Set up a row of pins or plastic bottles at the end of a hallway or large room.

How to Play:

  • Children lie on their stomachs or sit on the scooter board.
  • They propel themselves towards the pins and try to knock them down using a beanbags or by running into them with the scooter board.

 

4. Partner Pull

Objective: Build teamwork and communication skills.

Setup: Pair up children and give each pair a long rope.

How to Play:

  • One child sits on the scooter board while the other pulls them using the rope.
  • They can take turns pulling each other across a designated area.

 

5. Alphabet or Number Hunt

Objective: Combine learning with physical activity.

  • Children navigate the room on their scooter boards to collect letters or numbers in the correct order.

6. Follow the Leader

How to Play:

  • The leader performs actions like spinning, rolling backward, or weaving through cones.
  • The rest of the children follow and mimic the leader’s movements.

 

Tips for Using Scooter Boards Safely

  • Always supervise children during activities.
  • Use scooter boards on smooth, flat surfaces to prevent tipping.
  • Encourage children to wear protective gear like helmets and pads if necessary.
  • Ensure there is enough space for children to move freely without obstacles that could cause injury.
